Love....

This morning I was browsing through goodreads.com to find some new books to get into for summer reading. I came across a friend's recent activity and saw that she liked a quote by Bob Marley.  I've seen a few of his quotes from time to time and they always seem to be really positive and filled with love, so I took some time to skim it over. As I read, my heart immediately swelled with love.

I've always been a fan of love ever since I was a child. I feel like the hopeless romantic in me was embedded in my DNA or something.  I remember being so fascinated with my kindergarten teacher and her hot beau, Rick (yes, I still remember his name...quite dreamy too...lol).  I used to love hearing about them when she would share and she kept a picture of the two of them on her desk. As I grew older, I remember someone telling me when I was in high school "you love, love". I wasn't sure if that was meant to make me feel bad or if it was just a stated observation.  I took it to make me feel bad as if I was wanting something that was really ridiculous and that my head was in the clouds or something.

I never forgot that day or that statement, but as I've matured, I stopped looking at it as a bad thing and simply embraced it.  Yes, I do love LOVE!! Not just romantic love, but any kind of love in it's purest form. I love seeing a father with his daughter, caring for her and being her super hero. I love seeing ode's to siblings on my social network pages to express how much they love each other and care. I love hearing about the person who volunteered on a busy holiday to feed the homeless and donate presents to a disadvantaged family in order to make them smile on Christmas. I love seeing a losing team congratulate the winning team with heart felt words of encouragement, hugs, and dap-ups for a job well done. Love makes the world a better place if you ask me.

So here is the quote...

I simply loved it so much that I e-mailed it to myself.  Perhaps my canvas painting friend, Taryn (I hope you're reading and will agree to this) could transfer it to a canvas that I could hang in my home! Now that'd be dope!

Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile.  Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.”  - Bob Marley

Simply beautiful!

Have a love filled day!
